Here are seven announcements.
Announcement 1: Datok L. Krishnan’s Deepavali Party
This will be on Monday, 27th October at 9.00 am at the St. John’s Institution Hall. All blind persons are cordially invited. For registration, please contact Pn. Jamilah at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 173.
Announcement 2: Public Speaking Course
The Outreach Care committee would like to organise a public speaking course for the blind with the help of Toast Masters. The course is being plan for 11th and 25th October (2nd and 4th Saturday of the month) from 2.00 – 5.00 pm in the MAB Hall. Announcement 3: Re-Introducing Braille Shorthand
We would like to know how many of the blind think braille shorthand should be re-introduced into the office Administrative Assistant’s course at the Gurney Training Centre. Your feedback is important as it will help MAB to decide whether or not to re-introduced the course. Please contact Ms. Jacqueline at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 175.
Announcement 4: Beautiful Gate Talentime For The Disabled
This will be on Saturday, 6th December from 1.00 – 6.00 pm at the Summit Shopping Complex in Subang USJ. Blind persons aged 18 and above are invited to take part. Prizes include cash vouchers, gift hampers and trophies. You must submit CD recording of your songs in BM, English or Chinese. Closing date is 1st November. Announcement 5: Farewell to MAB Staff
Two members of our staff have left MAB. Ms. Theresa Nathan retired on 31st August after 43 years service in the Fund Raising Department. Pn. Sariza A.Halim resigned from the Sports Department after serving 3 years. We take this opportunity to wish them god’s blessings and all the best.
Announcement 6: Elderly Blind Club
Spectrum for August is now available. Please contact Mr. K.K. Goh at tel. 03 9221 9490. Anyone interested in having his own copy of the braille song book, “Greatest Oldies” book 1 and 2 at RM15.00 and RM13.00 respectively, you can still contact Ms. Wong Kwee Heong at tel. 03 2272 4726.
Announcement 7: English Braille Books
Here are 5 popular english braille books among the borrowers at the library. To borrow, please contact Pn. Zuraidah at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 150. The titles are:-
