Here are 5 new announcements and 1 old announcement.
Announcement 1: Update on Elderly Blind Gathering and Mercy Malaysia Risk Disaster Management Talk
Please note that the Mercy Malaysia talk has been postponed to 23rd January 2010 at the MAB Hall. It will be organised as part of the program for the elderly blind gathering which will begin at 9.30 am on the same date. That means the lotto and dominoes game will be cancelled. Registration fee for the gathering is RM4.00 for members and RM5.00 for non-members. Please register with Ms. Rani by Thursday, 21st January at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 154.
Announcement 2: English Oldies Sing Along
You will be happy to know that Dorothy Wong a member of the Elderly Blind Club has kindly agreed to be incharged of the english oldies sing along session. The session will be on Saturday, 23rd January 2010 starting 2.00 pm at the Elderly Blind Center. Registration fee is RM1.00 only. Please register with Mdm. Violet Kok at tel. 03 2274 2576.
Announcement 3: Mandarin Sing Along
This will be on Monday, 1st February 2010 (which is KL City Day) from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm at the Elderly Blind Center. An extra hour from 1.00 – 2.00 pm can be extended for those interested in individual singing. Registration fee is RM1.00 only. Please register with Mr. Lai Kok Keong at tel. 03 2274 2576.
Announcement 4: Midnight and Christmas Services 2009
Last year’s Christmas services from St. John’s and Leeds Cathedrals plus 9 lessons and carols from the King’s College choir are now available on MP3 at RM5.00 per copy. Please contact Ms. Rani at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 154 for booking.
Announcement 5: Book Recommendation – My Side of History by Chin Peng
This book provides a vivid and illuminating account of the struggles of Chin Peng and the Communist Party of Malaya, the narrow escapes of Chin Peng from death, what actually happened during the assassination of Sir Henry Gurney and why the Baling talks (1956) with Tunku Abdul Rahman failed but the talks initiated by Tun Dr. Mahathir (1989) succeeded.
Announcement 6: National Lawn Bowls Championship 2010
This will be from 30 – 31 January 2010 at the Bukit Kiara Bowling Greens. Food and accommodation will be provided. The fee is RM20.00 per person including participants, escorts and officials.
