Gurney Training Centre Department & Radio MAB

Gurney Training Centre Department Since 1953, the Gurney Training Centre has prepared visually impaired individuals for employment and independence through accredited training and support services. The Centre focuses on technical and vocational education aligned with national standards.

Courses offered:

  • Office management
  • Computer system operation & administration
  • Massage therapy
  • Reflexology
  • Audio production

Services provided:

  • Technical education, skills training, and residential life programs for employment preparation
  • Vocational training runs in two semesters: January to June and July to December
  • Empowers blind individuals for employment through TVET, offering adjustment training and raising awareness about capabilities and needs
  • Accredited training centre under the Department of Skills Development (JPK), Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR), dedicated to impactful services

Target Audience:

  • Visually impaired or blind, aged 18-45
  • No strict SPM requirement
  • Need basic reading, writing, physical, and mental health
  • Support in various competencies
  • Establish knowledge exchange network

Radio MAB

Radio MAB Radio MAB, launched on April 12, 2021, serves as a unique online community radio for the blind and visually impaired. Broadcast via Zeno FM, it airs from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, providing accessible entertainment and information under the slogan “Information Without Borders.”
